Validating HTML syntax

The HTML Syntax Validator validates HTML basic syntax and HTML DTD compliance for HTML and JSP files created in Page Designer.

Important: For JSP files, this validator only validates the HTML syntax in the file. Refer to Validating project resources for additional details on the JSP Validator.

1. To validate an HTML or JSP file that is currently open in Page Designer:
   1. Click Tools > Validate HTML Syntax

2. To enable HTML syntax validation to run when you manually build a project, or when you save changes:
   1. Click Window > Preferences > Validation.

   2. Select the HTML Syntax Validator check box.

   3. Click OK.
      Important: Automatic validation might have an impact on performance.
