Disabling link management for Web projects
By default, the links builder manages links for you. You can set your preferences so that links are not fixed automatically.
To turn off automatic link management:
- Select Window > Preferences.
- On the Preferences page, expand the Web Tools category and click Links.
- On the Links preferences page, under Inserting Links, ensure that neither of the two check boxes is selected.
- Under Saving files, ensure that Open the "Broken Links" dialog to copy files to a specific location is selected. On this window, you can manually specify whether or not links to files outside your product are resolved by copying them locally.
Links to HTML and JSP pages outside your project are not listed in the Broken Links dialog box.
- To completely turn off link management for all Web projects:
- Select Window > Preferences.
- Open the Web Tools > Links > Validation and Refactoring page.
- Clear the Allow projects to override these preference settings and Enable LinksBuilder (for links validation, links refactoring, and Links View) check boxes.
- To turn off link management for one Web project:
- Select Properties from the pop-up menu of a Web project.
- Open the Links Validation/Refactoring page.
- Select the Override global links preferences check box.
- Clear the Enable LinksBuilder (for links validation, links refactoring, and Links View) check box.
