Editing cell properties

As you edit tables in your Web pages, you can change cell attributes such as identifying a cell as a data cell or a header cell, changing cell dimensions, aligning text in a cell, adding color, and so on.

To change cell properties in a table:

  1. Select one or more cells in the table. If you select multiple cells , you can change attributes of all of them at once.

  2. In the Properties view, click the tab that corresponds to the tag you want to edit, for example TD.

  3. To change a data cell to a header cell, select the Header radio button in the Cell type group.

  4. To align text in the cell, select values from the drop-down lists next to Horizontal and Vertical in the Alignment section.

  5. To assign the cell a fixed width and height, specify Width and Height in pixels. Type a pixel value (300, for example) in the field on the left, and, for cell width, select pixels from the list to the right of the field.

  6. To change the cell width to a value that is a ratio relative to the table width, specify Width as a percentage. Type a percentage ratio from 1 through 100 in the field on the left, and select % from the list to the right of the field.

  7. To add wallpaper to the background of a cell, click the Browse button next to the Image field, and select an image file. You can also import a background image into the project.

  8. To add color to a table, click the Browse colors button. You have the following options:

    • Select one of the predefined colors.

    • Select Browse to open the Color dialog box. In addition to choosing from among the color options, you can create a color by clicking the Define Custom Colors push button.

    • Select Color picker to select a color from anywhere on the screen.
