Define a backend ID for database type

For 2.0 CMPs, you can specify a backend ID for the database type that you are deploying to. The backend ID determines the persister classes that get loaded at deployment.

To define the backend ID for database type:

1. Switch to the J2EE perspective.

2. In the Project Explorer view, select the desired 2.0 EJB JAR file.

3. Select Open With > Deployment Descriptor Editor from the pop-up menu.

4. On the Overview page of the editor, select the Backend ID section under WebSphere Bindings.

5. Select a database from the drop-down list. You can also refresh the backend ID.
