Define a screen reader for the help system
Users with special needs may want to access the documentation in a screen reader rather than in the embedded help system. You can set the help system to open in a screen reader by default. If you set this preference, the Samples Gallery and the Tutorials Gallery will also open in a screen reader.
To define a screen reader for the help system:
- Select Window > Preferences > Help.
- On the Help preferences page, select the Always use external browsers check box.
- Click the Custom browser radio button.
- In the Custom Browser command field, type or browse to the screen reader executable. For example, to use IBM Home Page Reader, you could type C:\Program Files\IBM\IBM Home Page Reader 3.04\hpr.exe.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
- Select Help > Help Contents.
The help system opens in the desired screen reader.
