Create scripts and instructions

Three-step process...

  1. Answer questions
  2. Customize values
  3. Configure

Instructions, scripts, and helper files are generated.


  1. From the Configuration Wizard, click an option to customize the configuration goal.

  2. Answer questions

    If we saved values from a previous session, click...

      Upload Saved Selections | myfile.xml | Load

    Answer questions about the environment, configuration goals, and preferences.

    Click the forward arrow to proceed to Customize values.

  3. Customize values

    Review parameter and property values.

    Default values are provided for some parameters. To see more parameters that are not part of the basic configuration path, click Advanced.

    Click the forward arrow to proceed to Configure.

  4. Configure

    We can start the configuration on the same system we are using to access the configuration wizard or save our settings to use on another server.

      Download Wizard Selections

    By saving the settings, we can reuse parameter values in the future. When we use this option, an XML file is created for us to download.

    To create a compressed file containing scripts, instructions, and other files.

      Download Configuration Scripts

    The configuration wizard creates the following files:

      myinstructions.html
      Manual tasks required for the configuration.

      myscript1.sh, myscript2.sh ...
      Run as instructed in the instructions file

      myfile1.properties myfile2.properties, ...
      Contains property values entered for the configuration.

      myfile.wfi
      File used for troubleshooting the task.

  5. To run the configuration, click...

      Start Configuration
