Use the Web Service Configuration portlet to work with Producer definitions online
If you work online, we can use the Web Service Configuration portlet to create a Producer definition.Create the Producer definition using the Web Service Configuration portlet works only if the portal is online and can connect to the Producer portal. If it is offline, you need to use xmlaccess.sh.
When creating a new Producer definition, you
- Define the name for the new Producer definition.
- Give a description for the Producer definition.
- Specify the URL for the WSDL service definitions of the Producer portal.
- Specify the registration handle for the Producer.
- About Web services configuration
We can use Web Services Configuration to set up the portal for consuming WSRP. This means preparing your Consumer portal for integrating remote Web services that have been provided by Producer portals so that the portal users can work with these Web services. Additionally, we can configure Web service Producers on the Consumer portal side and configure various aspects of using Web services in the portal.- Create a Producer definition
A Producer is a portal that provides WSRP services. Consumer portals can then consume these WSRP services as remote portlets. To enable this, you create and configure a Producer definition.- Edit a Producer definition
To update the information for a Producer in the portal, click Edit for that Producer in the list of Producer definitions. The Web Service Configuration portlet displays a panel similar to the Create Producer panel with the information that you entered before. Optionally, we can also

After creating a Producer definition, we can proceed to consuming the WSRP services that are provided bthat Producers that is, integrating them into the Consumer portal as remote portlets.
To work with the Web Service Configuration portlet, click Administration > Portlet Management > Web Services.
