Configure Integrator for SAP
Before we can use the SAP navigation and the SAP integrator portlet, perform the configuration.
The SAP navigation integration and the SAP integrator portlet use the same set of configuration parameters, but configure these parameters separately. You set the parameters for each of the two in different locations:
- Configure the SAP navigation page: By default, the WebSphere Portal installation names the SAP integration page SAP and places it as a subpage of Applications > IBM WebSphere Portal Integrator for SAP.
To change the title of the SAP navigation page or move the page to another location in the WebSphere Portal, use the standard tools of WebSphere Portal.
For example, we can use Manage Pages in the WebSphere Portal administration.
All required page properties for configuring the SAP navigation page are stored in the page properties of the SAP navigation page. For a list of configuration parameters see the topic about Configuration parameters for the SAP navigation integration. You must check and verify these settings and change them as appropriate for your environment, if required. To perform this task:
- Click Administration > Manage Pages.
- Select the page SAP, or however we might have renamed it.
- Select Edit Page properties > Advanced options > I want to set parameters.
- Change the page properties as required. For a list of configuration parameters see the topic about Configuration parameters for the SAP navigation integration.
If your values for the page properties remain within a length limit of 255 characters, we can set them directly in the page properties as described here.
If the values for any of the properties exceed 255 characters, sethat property in the WP Configuration Service, reference it in the page properties, and prefix its value in the page properties with ConfigService: .For example, the most likely parameter to have a value that exceeds 255 characters is sap.SSOTokenUrl . In this case you configure the following settings:
- In the WP Configuration Service: actual.SSO.tokenUrl = "your_URL"
- In the page properties: sap.SSOTokenUrl = "ConfigService:actual.SSO.tokenUrl"
For more details about how to perform this task see Configuring properties in the WP Configuration Service.
- Restrict the access to the SAP navigation page to the correct audience, for example to all or selected SAP users. To perform this task, use the Portal Access Control.
- Optional: Like portal pages, we can configure the navigational integration label to use a theme template. Within the navigational integration, integrated SAP NetWeaver portal pages inheris that configuration from the label. To perform this configuration, add the page parameter com.ibm.portal.theme.template.file.name.htm to the label using the XMLAccess configuration interface. After you install Integrator for SAP, all integration pages are already configured to use a side navigation theme template. We can remove the side navigation by removing the parameter for the side navigation theme template from the label.
- Configure the integrator portlet for Integrator for SAP: The WebSphere Portal installation names the portlet IBM WebSphere Portal Integrator for SAP and places it on a page named iView. Users get to that page by clicking Applications > IBM WebSphere Portal Integrator for SAP > iView. To configure the SAP integrator portlet, set the parameters in the Edit Shared Settings mode of the portlet. For a list of configuration parameters see Configuration parameters for the SAP integrator portlet. We can use multiple instances of the portlet to point to different pieces of content. Place these portlet instances on the same page or on different pages, and use the Edit Shared Settings mode to configure each portlet instance. Instead, we can also set shared parameters for the portlet instances in the WP Configuration Service. For more details about how to perform this task see Configure properties in the WP Configuration Service.
We can clear the complete configuration with the Clear Parameters button in the Edit Shared Settings mode. We cannot clear individual entry fields.
After you have completed the configuration, restart the WebSphere Portal server for the changes to take effect.
For more information about how to configure Integrator for SAP see these topics:
- Configure properties in the WP Configuration Service
Instead of configuring the SAP navigation page properties in the Manage Pages portlet, we can also add the configuration properties for the SAP navigation integration and for the SAP integrator portlet to the WebSphere Portal WP Configuration Service resource environment provider. Then you reference these settings in the Page Parameters or the Edit Shared Settings mode.- Configure Basic Authentication for SSO for the SAP navigation integration
For single sign-on between WebSphere Portal and SAP NetWeaver Portal, we can configure HTTP Basic Authentication using the Credential Vault. The portlet IBM WebSphere Portal Integrator for SAP provides an administration interface used to perform this configuration.- Configure Basic Authentication for SSO for the SAP integrator portlet
If you do not use the SAP navigation integration, but you want the SAP integrator portlet to pass the SAP SSO token to the users' browser, you need to use HTTP Basic Authentication for single sign-on for the SAP integrator portlet.- Configure the size of the SAP integrator portlet
By default, the IBM WebSphere Portal Integrator for SAP portlet is sized automatically. By alternative, we can control the size of the portlet using CSS styles.- Configure Tivoli Federated Identity Manager with SAML for single sign-on to SAP NetWeaver Portal
We can also use Tivoli Federated Identity Manager with Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) for single sign-on to SAP NetWeaver Portal.- Configure logout handling
When a user logs out of WebSphere Portal, a log out from SAP NetWeaver Portal needs to be performed as well. Otherwise, the user session on the SAP NetWeaver Portal remains open until it times out.- Complete the configuration
After you have completed configuring Integrator for SAP, restart the WebSphere Portal server for the changes to take effect.- Configuration parameters for the SAP navigation integration
