Deploying the theme

Perform these steps to install your theme and verify that it is running.

  1. Open the WebSphere® Application Server administration console.

    1. Open a browser and enter the URL for your site.
    2. Click Applications > New Application.
    3. Click New Enterprise Application.
    4. Navigate to the yourtheme.war file.
    5. Click Next.

  2. Select Fast Path and click Next.
  3. On the Select installation options page, click Next.
  4. On the Map modules to servers page, select the checkbox next to your module and then select your Portal server from the Clusters and servers box.
  5. Click Apply and then Next.
  6. Navigate to the Map context roots for Web modules page.
  7. Enter your theme name as the context root. For example, yourtheme. Click Next.
  8. Review the summary and click Finish.
  9. Click Save.

To verify that the application is running, perform the following steps from the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console:

  1. Click Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications.
  2. Search for the new theme.
  3. Select the application and click Start.

    A message appears that the application was started successfully.
