Migrate to a remote server
Migrate to a new version of WebSphere Portal on a different server requires exporting content from the earlier version, moving the exported content to the machine where the new version is installed, and then importing the content into the new version.
During migration, the portal may be in a state where it may or may not start. Do not attempt to use the portal until migration is complete; the portal is not in a production-ready state until you complete the portal-post-upgrade task.
JDBC note: Before attempting to migrate to a remote server, ensure that you have installed the JDBC drivers on the target server in the same directory in which they are installed on the source server.
