Migrate composite applications
You can migrate composite applications created with WebSphere Portal v6.0.1.4 or later to WebSphere Portal v7.0 environment. When you migrate a WebSphere Portal v6.0.1.4 or later environment, composite applications are also migrated. You can choose to migrate composite applications independently of the core portal migration. Optionally, during core portal migration, you can suppress the migration of composite applications.
1. Prepare to migrate composite applications
Prior to running the migration tasks for composite applications, complete the prerequisite tasks. Whether you migrate composite applications as part of the core portal migration or independently, the prerequisite tasks will ensure successful migration of composite application artifacts and data.
2. Suppressing migration of composite applications
To suppress the migration of composite applications during core portal migration, specify the parameter DSkipAiMigration=true when you run the portal-pre-upgrade and the portal-post-upgrade tasks.
3. Running migration tasks for composite applications
Use the WPMigrate script to migrate composite applications from IBM WebSphere Portal v6.0.1.4 or later to v7.0. When you migrate a portal environment using the portal-pre-upgrade task and the portal-post-upgrade task, composite applications that have been enabled for backup are also migrated. You can also choose to migrate composite applications independently of the core portal migration by running the migrate-ai-export and migrate-ai-import tasks.
4. Use composite applications in a migrated virtual portal
Before using composite applications in a migrated v6.0.1.x virtual portal, run an additional configuration task to create root folders for templates and applications, and then import the composite application templates that you want to work with.
