IBM i cluster: Prepare the IBM i OS

WebSphere Portal can be installed locally or remotely using a Windows™ workstation.

You need the following information to install remotely:

• A supported version of MicrosoftWindows®

• Workstation CD-ROM drive

• TCP/IP connection to the IBM i system

• The IBM i server must be in an unrestricted state

• A valid user ID and password on the IBM i system

• A user profile with a user type (user class) of *SECOFR (other than QSECOFR)

You need the following information to install locally:

• IBM i CD-ROM drive

• The IBM i server must be in an unrestricted state

• A valid IBM i user ID and password

• A user profile with a user type (user class) of *SECOFR (other than QSECOFR)
