Change banner text

Change the text displayed in the banner of the portal page.

Text that displays in the banner of the portal page is defined in the file, engine.properties, which is located in the directory, WP_PROFILE/PortalServer/config. For multilingual sites, the file can have a language suffix corresponding to the locale, for example, engine_es.properties for Spanish. If WebSphere Portal cannot determine the client locale, the banner text is defined in engine.properties. Pages that use the Page Builder theme use the banner text from the engine.properties file and then append the page name from the banner text. For example, if the page name is My page and the banner text is IBM WebSphere Portal, the banner displays IBM WebSphere Portal: My Page.

Use the following steps to change the banner text for each language that is supported by portal site.

  1. Edit engine.properties and change the title parameter to the name that you want to be displayed in the portal banner.

  2. Save and close engine.properties.

  3. Restart the application server for WebSphere Portal.
