Work with web content pages
A web content page is a portal page that displays web content from a site or site area by mapping the page to the web content site structure in Web Content Manager system. When you add the web content viewer to a web content page, the portlet automatically renders the default content of the attached site or site area. In addition to displaying the default content, the web content viewer provides a dynamic broadcasting option that selects the best matching web content page when selecting links to other content items.
Create a web content page
Create a new web content page and associate it with a Web Content Manager site area.
Use page-based access control with web content pages
Use page-based access control to delegate access control of content items to the web content page used to display the content. When page-based access control is enabled for a site area associated with a web content page, a user who is authorized to view the page is also automatically assumed to have view access for all content under the site area associated with the page.
Create a web content page with xmlaccess.sh
As with other portal pages, you can create a web content page with xmlaccess.sh (xmlaccess command). Page definition is similar to a standard portal page, with the addition of a page parameter that specifies the site area that is associated with the web content page.
Previewing content on Web content pages
If you have enabled support for Web content pages, you can preview content items in the authoring portlet as they will appear on Web content pages.
Dynamic web content page selection
The web content viewer provides a link broadcasting feature that leverages the content mappings on a web content page to dynamically look up the best matching web content page to render the linked content item.
Set up a Web content fallback page
Set up a Web content fallback page to be used when the JSR 286 Web content viewer cannot dynamically determine which page to use when displaying a content item or when the user does not have sufficient privileges to view the page originally associated with the content item.
Content mappings are used to associate Web content pages with the Web content site structure in Web Content Manager system. When you select a folder to associate with a Web content page, a content mapping is created and maintained within the portal. Typically, the management of content mappings is automatically handled by the portal, but for those situations where you need to work more directly with content mappings, several mechanisms are available: xmlaccess.sh, the Portal Scripting Interface, and the REST API for content mappings.
