Inserting a link to remote content
You can insert links to remote content into elements containing a rich text field using the Insert Link to Remote Content button. Only remote content that has been configured remote server access can be selected using this button.
- Click Insert Link to Remote Content.
- Enter the URL to the remote content.
- Enter a user name and password to log in to the remote content with and click Login.
- Select a document.
- Depending on the type of remote content you have connected to, you may also be required to specify whether the link downloads the document directly, or take you to a summary page first.
- Click OK.
The Insert Link to Remote Content function requires a theme using Dojo 1.4.x and will be disabled if the theme does not include the theme.capability.dojo property in its metadata.properties files (for example, theme.capability.dojo=1.4.3). If the button is not enabled but is required, ensure that the Page Builder theme is applied to the portal page containing the authoring portlet. In addition, if the feature is disabled when using inline editing, apply the Page Builder theme to the hidden authoring page and apply the Page Builder No Skin to the reserved authoring portlet instance.
