Coordination with other JSR 286 portlets
The JSR 286 web content viewer provides support for two public render parameters, which allow coordination with other portlets and can be used to set the web content item that should be rendered by the rendering portlet.Depending on the portal's configuration, one of the following public render parameters takes precedence:
- By default the path-info public render parameter specifies the content item to be displayed. The fully qualified name of the parameter is http://www.ibm.com/xmlns/prod/websphere/portal/publicparams:path-info. The value of the public render parameter must be a valid path to a Web content item that can be rendered by the portlet.
- If the path-info parameter is not present, the context public render parameter specifies the path to the content item. This can occur, for example, if the page has no content mapping or if the content to be displayed is in a site area that is different from the site area specified by the default mapping. The fully qualified name of the public render parameter is http://www.ibm.com/xmlns/prod/datatype/content:context. The value of the public render parameter must be a valid path to a Web content item that can be rendered by the portlet.
Important: The JSR 286 web content viewer only honors the public render parameters if it is configured to receive links from other portlets.
The public render parameters are defined by the Java Portlet Specification 2.0.
