Prepare additional nodes on AIX
After installing and configuring the primary node, you can create your secondary nodes. You must install WebSphere Portal on each node and then configure the node to access the database and user registry before adding it to the cluster.
To prepare your secondary node:
Prerequisites
- Prepare prerequisite and corequisite software on AIX
- Prepare the AIX operating system
- Prepare the primary node on AIX
- Choose the type of cluster to create on AIX
- Installing WebSphere Portal on AIX on the additional nodes
Install WebSphere Portal on your secondary nodes to create a highly available and scalable environment.
- Choose the type of additional node to create on AIX
If created a static cluster using the IBM WAS Network Deployment, add additional static nodes to the cluster. If created a dynamic cluster using WebSphere Virtual Enterprise, add additional dynamic nodes to the cluster.
- Choose the type of vertical cluster to create on AIX
For the IBM WAS Network Deployment, you can add vertical cluster members to your static cluster. For WebSphere Virtual Enterprise, you can add vertical cluster members to your dynamic cluster.
