Installation methods, options, and sources

There are multiple installation methods (silent, graphical user interface, and console), options (full or administrator), and sources (CD or CD images).

• Installation options

  There are two types of installation: full and administration.

• Installation methods

  Select the appropriate installation method for your environment.

  You can use either a graphical interface program, console mode, or a response file for a silent installation.

• Installation source location

  Before installing WebSphere Portal, choose the installation source location and method that best fit your environment.

  For example, you can install from the CD-ROM or from a file system and you can install using the graphical interface program or perform a silent installation.
