Set up a remote spell checker
Set up spell checker to run on a remote appserver. Running spell checker locally is supported on the following platforms:
Platform Versions Windows (32 bit)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition with SP1 (32 bit)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with SP2 (32 bit)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition with SP1 (32 bit)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise and Standard Edition (32 bit)
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional with SP1 or SP2 (32 bit)
- Microsoft Windows Vista (32 bit)
IBM AIX
- AIX V6.1 with Service Pack 4
- AIX V5L V5.3 with Service Pack 5300-04-01 (32 bit)
Linux (x86)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Enterprise Server (ES) V4.0 Update 4 & V5.0
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Advanced Server (AS) V4.0 Update 4 & V5.0
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Workstation (WS) V4.0 Update 4
- Red Hat Desktop V4.0 Update 4
- SUSE SLES 10
- SUSE SLES 9 SP3
- SUSE SLED 9 SP3
Solaris on SPARC Sun Solaris 9 on Sun SPARC with the latest Patch Cluster (32 bit kernel support) Running spell checker locally on the following systems is not supported:
- HP-UX
- Linux for pSeries
- Linux for zSeries
Also, you cannot run spell checker locally on 64 bit systems. Instead, configure spell checker on a remote appserver and access that server from the local WebSphere Portal server.
