Portlet Factory, Version 6.1.2

Building a Portlet WAR for Production Deployment

This feature builds Porlet WARs for production deployment in the Java Standard Portlet 1.0, 2.0, and WebSphere native formats.

  1. In Project Explorer with WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer, right-click the project.

  2. Chose Portal Server WAR > Build Portlet WAR for production deployment.

  3. From the Build Portlet WAR dialog box, choose either Java Standard Portlet 1.0 (JSR 168), Java Standard Portlet 2.0 (JSR 286), or WebSphere native. (The WebSphere native format is deprecated).

  4. Choose the file path where the WAR will saved and click Finish.

Note: You will still need to move the WAR file to a Portal server and manually deploy the project.

Note: When using IBM® WebSphere Application Server 6.1, verify that the classloading policy is properly set:

  1. From the WebSphere Application Server console, navigate to Enterprise Applications > your_war > Manage Modules > your.war, where "your" is the name of your WAR file.

  2. Select the Classes loaded with application classloader first option.

  3. Save your changes.
