Websphere Portal Link builder inputs

This topic describes the inputs for the Websphere Portal Link builder.

Table 1. Websphere Portal Link builder inputs
Input Name Description
Name Name for this builder call. The WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer displays this name in the builder call list.
Page Location Use the Page Location input to specify the page or pages on which this builder call will act.
Target Content Node Specify the target to which this link should point. Required.

Note: This value is the identifier of a resource in IBM® WebSphere Application Server. This might be a page or a tab in the portal.

Layout Node Optionally specify the ID or unique name of the control that holds the portlet. This value must be used in combination with the Target Content Node input to identify the page where the portlet is located. You must give a unique name to the portlet instance on the page. Giving a portlet a unique name in the user interface is not sufficient. See the following Technote for more information:

Portlet Parameter Type Whether the generated URL to a standard portlet is one of the following processing types.

action

Portlet action processing

render

Portlet render processing
Link Text Specify the text of the link. Required.
URL Parameters Add parameters to the link URL. Parameters are not visible to standard portlets if the values specified in the Layout Node input does not point specifically to a portlet.
Attribute List In this input table, place one or more HTML attributes on the link.

For example, you can add class, bgcolor, or similar HTML attributes to the link.
