General inputs

Input Name Description
Widget Title Enter a name that will identify this widget when it gets added to a page in the mashup.
Widget Icon Select an icon file that will represent the widget on the mashup. The icon is displayed next to the widget title in the toolbox, and, after the widget is added to the page, on the title bar of the widget.
Widget Category Specify the drawer in the mashup toolbox from which to make the widget available.
Widget Description Enter a short description for the widget. When the widget is added to the page, this description appears next to the widget title and icon as the user navigates the toolbox.

Handling Profile Sets

Input Name Description
Do not expose for customization Prevents any exposure of its profile name or profile values in the Customize mode of the widget. Use this setting when you want the WebSphere Portlet Factory profile selection handler to determine the profile to apply to the widget's underlying model.
Show individual profile values in the Edit Settings mode of the widget Allows the user to specify values for each entry in the profile set when in the Customize mode (Edit Settings) for the widget. Use this setting to allow the user to set widget parameters at execution time. For example, a stock-symbol list, zip-code for weather, background color, and so on.
Show profile names in the Edit Settings mode of the widget Allows the user to specify a profile name to apply to the widget. Use this setting to allow the user to apply all the values determined by the selected profile to the widget. For example, a profile set could contain profiles oriented towards the user's region. Using this setting on such a profile set allows the user to determine the regional profile to use, but the developer retains control over the individual values in that profile.

Public Settings Edit Model Select the model that will customize the widget by editing its attributes. Use the Widget Customizer builder to create this model.
