Profile selection and storage mechanisms
Custom profile selection and custom profile values let you gain finer control over your web application. The J2EE application server security and application roles used by IBM® WebSphere Portlet Factory are typically not as granular as your application profiles should be. Profile selection handlers provide a pluggable profile selection mechanism. In addition, WebSphere Portlet Factory can store profile information in and retrieve profile information from a database. This capability is particularly useful when a database of users already exists within your enterprise.
