Configuration of a project for portlets

You have the following types of configuration for a project that generates portlets:

Application server deployment

This creates a WAR for development testing in a standalone environment, for example, IBM® WebSphere® Application Server or TomCat. This does not create a portlet WAR.

Portal server deployment

This creates a portlet WAR for running in a portlet container, for example, IBM WebSphere Portal server.

When you create the project, you can create a configuration or associate the project with an existing configuration. You can also create a configuration separate from the project and use it for multiple projects.
