Portlet Factory, Version 6.1.2

Usage of the builder skeleton tool

The builder skeleton tool takes your base model and its profiled inputs, converts them into a builder, and automatically generates all the required artifacts. The builder skeleton tool is itself a builder that incorporates special functionality for creating other builders.

To use the builder skeleton, you create a new empty model. (This is not a model that you save, so it can be created anywhere.) To this model, add a builder skeleton builder call. (This builder call is available when you add the feature set Tutorials and Samples Builders to a project.)

In the builder skeleton editor page, set the builder type input to Model-based Builder. Then use the Model Name picker to browse to the model that represents your builder base model. In the Builder Id, replace [BuilderName] with the name of your builder, and in the Readable Name input, enter the builder name you want to appear in the builder call list and at the top of the builder call editor.

You can add a description of your builder. Text that you enter in the Description input appears as hover text in the builder picker and below your Builder Title in the builder call editor. The builder class input is automatically filled in and is based on the builderID that you previously entered.
