Virtual Member Manger uses the WAS trace facilities to create trace information. If you need detailed trace output of Virtual Member Manger to debug a problem, follow these steps:
- Open the Administrative Console.

- Verify the check box Enable Log is selected.
- Under the Additional Properties section, click on Change Log Detail Levels. Enter the following trace string in the text box:
com.ibm.ws.security.*=all:com.ibm.websphere.wim.*=all:com.ibm.wsspi.wim.*=all:com.ibm.ws.wim.*=all- Click OK and save the changes to the master configuration.
- Restart WebSphere Portal.
The resulting traces of Virtual Member Manager will be written to...
portal_server_root/log/trace.log
