Copying and moving items
These topics describe how to copy and move Web content items.
- Copying a site area As your site framework evolves, you will be required to edit your site framework by copying site areas from one section of your site framework to another. You use the copy button to copy a site area in the site framework.
- Moving a site area As your site framework evolves, you will be required to edit your site framework by moving site areas from one section of your site framework to another. You use the Move button to change the position of a site area in the site framework. When you reposition a parent site area, any child site areas and related content are also moved.
- Linking or copying content items to site areas When a content item is first created, select a site area to save the content item under. You can link content items to other site areas using the Link and Add Links buttons. You can also copy a content item to a different site area using the Copy button.
- Moving a content item You move content items from one site area to another using the Move To button. This is different from linking content as the content you choose to move is removed from the original site area.
- Copying a category As a taxonomy evolves, you will be required to edit your taxonomy by copying categories from one section of your taxonomy to another. You use the Copy button to copy a category in a taxonomy.
- Moving a category As a taxonomy evolves, you will be required to edit your taxonomy by moving categories from one section of your taxonomy to another. You use the Move button to change the position of a category in a taxonomy. When you reposition a parent category, any child categories are also moved.
