Configure email alert objects
We can create email alert objects to send an email notification to specified users or to administrators when specified events occur on the network. We can also select the event parameters to include in the message so that important information about detected events is provided.
Steps
- Click System > System Settings > System Alerts.
- In System Alerts page, take one of the following actions:
- Click New > Email.
- Select an existing object, and then click Edit.
- Configure the following options:
Option Description Name Specifies a meaningful name for the response. This name displays when we select responses for events, so give the response a name that allows users to easily identify what they are selecting. From Email address that displays in the From field of the alert email. To Email address or group of addresses to receive the alert. Separate individual email addresses with a comma or semicolon. SMTP Server Fully qualified domain name or IP address of the mail server. The SMTP server must be accessible to the appliance to send email notifications. SMTP Port Custom port used to connect to the SMTP server. The default is 25. Comment Type a comment to identify the email alert object.
- Click Save.
