Cannot send email from ISIM Server
If we cannot send an email, check the mail server properties. For example, we might not be able to send an email notification of a password change.
The properties are in the enRoleMail.properties file. Take these actions:
- Log on to the IBM Security Identity Manager virtual appliance console.
- From the top-level menu of the Appliance Dashboard, select Configure > Manage Server Setting > Mail Server Configuration.
- Use the Mail Server Configuration page to check the mail server properties. See Manage the mail server configuration.
- Check the host server name. Use the nslookup command to list the mail server name and IP address for a specific domain.
- Access the command prompt.
- Enter the tools command.
- Enter the nslookup commands as follows:
nslookup > set type=MX > domain-namewhere domain-name is the Internet domain name of the email addresses of the organization. For example, us.yourcompany.com.Parent topic: Troubleshooting email problems
