Directory structure


This topic shows the naming conventions used to denote the location of files on the portal server and the types of resources you can find in those directories.

 

WebSphere Portal directory structure

Throughout this documentation, the install location for the portal server component of WebSphere Portal is noted as wp_root. The root directory for WebSphere Portal product files is:

/QIBM/ProdData/PortalServer5

Note: This is represented as <wp_root> in the Information Center.

The WebSphere Portal root directory has the following structure:

WebSphere Application Server directory structure

Throughout this documentation, the install location for WebSphere Application Server is noted as was_root. In addition to the root directory for product files, there is also a root directory for each WebSphere Application Server instance that has been configured for use with WebSphere Portal. This directory exists in the following location:

/QIBM/UserData/WebAS5/Base/<instance>/PortalServer5

where instance is the name of the WebSphere Application Server instance. Note that this directory does not exist until the addwpsinst.sh task has been run as part of the configuration process. Refer to Adding WebSphere Portal to a WebSphere Application Server instance for more information.
