SAVBRM (Save Object Using BRM)

Purpose

The Save Object using BRM (SAVBRM) command saves a copy of one or more objects that can be used in the integrated file system.

Restrictions

  1. For detailed restrictions on using this command to save objects by using name patterns in the root directory, to save objects in libraries, or to save documents library objects, see the Backup and Recovery book.
  2. The SAVBRM command does not support optical files.
  3. You cannot save QSYS and QDLS file systems using this command.

You can save data to an ADSM device by using this command. To save data to an ADSM device, meet the following conditions:

Example 1: Saving Objects

SAVBRM DEV(*MEDCLS)
MEDPCY(*SYSPCY)

In this example all integrated file system objects are included in the save operation using the device specified in the system policy.
