CRTCTLNET (Create Controller Description (Network)) Command Description
CRTCTLNET Command syntax diagram
Purpose
The Create Controller Description (Network) (CRTCTLNET) command creates a controller description for a network controller. More information about using this command is in the Communications Configuration book.
Required Parameters
- CTLD
- Specifies the name of the controller description being created.
Optional Parameters
- ONLINE
- Specifies whether this object is automatically varied on at initial program load (IPL).
*YES: The controller is automatically varied on at IPL.
*NO: This controller is not automatically varied on at IPL.
- LINE
- Specifies the name of the nonswitched lines to which this controller is attached. The line description must already exist.
- DEV
- Specifies the names of up to 255 devices that are attached to this controller. The device descriptions must already exist.
- CNNRSPTMR
- Specifies the amount of time the system will wait before responding to an incoming connection request.
170: The system will wait 170 seconds before responding to an incoming connection request.
connection-response-timer: Specify the amount of time the system will wait before responding to a connection request. Valid values range from 1 to 3600 seconds.
- NTBD
- Specifies the NetBIOS description to be used for this controller. The NetBIOS description must already exist.
*NONE: This controller does not use the NetBIOS protocol
QNTBIBM: Use the IBM supplied NetBIOS description
NetBIOS-description-name: Specify a NetBIOS description.
- AUT
- Specifies the authority given to users who do not have specific authority to the controller description network, who are not on an authorization list, and whose user group has no specific authority to the controller description network.
*LIBCRTAUT: The authority for the object is the same as the create authority for QSYS. The create authority for QSYS can be displayed by using the Display Library Description (DSPLIBD) command. If the create authority is changed with the Change Library (CHGLIB) command, the new authority does not affect existing objects.
*CHANGE: The user can perform all operations on the object except those limited to the owner or controlled by object existence authority and object management authority. The user can change and perform basic functions on the object. Change authority provides object operational authority and all data authority.
*ALL: The user can perform all operations except those limited to the owner or controlled by authorization list management authority. The user can control the object's existence, specify the security for the object, change the object, and perform basic functions on the object. The user also can change ownership of the controller description network.
*USE: The user can perform basic operations on the controller description network, such as running a program or reading a file. The user cannot change the controller description network. *USE authority provides object operational authority, read authority, and execute authority.
*EXCLUDE: The user cannot access the controller description network.
authorization-list-name: Specify the name of the authorization list used.
- TEXT
- Specifies the text that briefly describes the program and its function. More information on this parameter is in Commonly used parameters.
*BLANK: Text is not specified.
'description': Specify no more than 50 characters of text, enclosed in apostrophes.
Example for CRTCTLNET
CRTCTLNET CTLD(CTL0A) LINE(LIN01)This command creates a network controller description with the name CTL0A. An existing line, LIN01, is specified as the network line for the controller.
