CRTCNNL (Create Connection List)
CRTCNNL Command syntax diagram
Purpose
The Create Connection List (CRTCNNL) command is used to create a connection list. A connection list consists of up to 256 connection list entries and is used to manage incoming and outgoing calls. Users specify a network type and the removal of extra characters for all of the entries of a list. To add entries to a connection list, use the Add Connection List Entry (ADDCNNLE) Command.
Required Parameters
- CNNL
- Specifies the name of the connection list being created.
Optional Parameters
- NETTYPE
- Specifies the type of integrated services digital network (ISDN) to which the system is attached. The value specified on this parameter is used to determine the defaults for several parameters that are dependent on the type of ISDN to which the system is attached.
*NETATR: This value indicates that the default network type specified in the network attributes are used. The values of the parameters in the network attributes for the system can be displayed by using the Display Network Attributes (DSPNETA) command. If no value is specified on the DFTNETTYPE parameter, the user should specify one by using the Change Network Attributes (CHGNETA) command.
*ATT: This value is used when attaching to an ISDN that uses the AT&T Generic interface.
*DBP1TR6: This value is used when attaching to an ISDN controlled by Germany's post telephone and telegraph administration (PTT). (Deutsche Bundespost 1TR6).
*ETSI: This value is used when attaching to an ISDN that uses the European interface (ETSI, also known as EuroISDN standard).
*JAPAN: This value is used when attaching to an ISDN that uses the Japanese interface.
*NISDN: This value is used when attaching to a National ISDN interface.
*NORTEL: This value is used when attaching to an ISDN that uses the Northern Telecom interface.
Note: The following choices are available and should only be used when directed to do so.
*NORTHAMT1: This value is used when attaching to a channelized North American T1 interface.
- RMVCHR
- Specifies up to 10 characters that are removed from remote and local numbers. Extra characters are removed from numbers before sending or comparing those numbers. The ability to shorten numbers prior to their use by the system means extra characters can be inserted in the numbers to help organize and read them.
*NETTYPE: A default value is used based on the network type specified on the NETTYPE parameter when the connection list was created using the Create Connection List (CRTCNNL) command.
*NONE: No characters are removed.
'character': Specify a character to be removed. Up to 10 characters can be specified.
- AUT
- Specifies the level of public authority for this object.
*LIBCRTAUT: The authority for the object is the same as the create authority for QSYS. The create authority for QSYS can be displayed by using the Display Library Description (DSPLIBD) command. If the create authority is changed with the Change Library (CHGLIB) command, the new authority does not affect existing objects.
*CHANGE: The user can perform all operations on the object except those limited to the owner or controlled by object existence authority and object management authority. The user can change and perform basic functions on the object. Change authority provides object operational authority and all data authority.
*ALL: The user can perform all operations on the object except those limited to the owner or controlled by authorization list management authority. The user can control the object's existence, specify the security for the object, change the object, and perform basic functions on the object. The user can transfer ownership of the object.
*USE: The user can perform basic operations on the connection list, such as running a program or reading a file. The user cannot change the connection list. *USE authority provides object operational authority, read authority, and execute authority.
*EXCLUDE: The user cannot access the connection list.
authorization-list-name: Specify the name of an authorization list. Users included on the authorization list are granted authority to the object as specified by the list. The authorization list must exist when the object is created.
- TEXT
- Specifies the text that briefly describes the connection list. More information on this parameter is in Commonly used parameters.
*BLANK: Text is not specified.
'description': Specify no more than 50 characters of text, enclosed in apostrophes.
Example for CRTCNNL
CRTCNNL CNNL(CHICAGO) NETTYPE(*ETSI)This command creates a connection named CHICAGO with a network type of *ETSI. Any entries added or changed (using the ADDCNNLE or CHGCNNLE commands) that have parameters specified with the value *NETTYPE have values set to work on a *ETSI type ISDN.
Error messages for CRTCNNL
