Start the deployment manager administrative console
The administrative console is a Web-based application that runs on any browser supported by Network Deployment.
The brower-based administrative console for WAS Network Deployment requires that cookies be enabled in the browser. Therefore, before you start the administrative console on your workstation, ensure that cookies are enabled.
- In Netscape, perform these steps:
- Click the Edit pull-down menu and choose Preferences....
- In the left pane, click Advanced.
The right pane shows the settings for cookies. Ensure that cookies are not disabled.
- In Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, 5.0, and 5.5 perform these steps:
- Click the Tools pull-down menu and choose Internet Options....
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Custom Level. Under Cookies, select Enable.
Click OK.
- In Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, perform these steps:
- Click the Tools pull-down menu and choose Internet Options....
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Click Advanced. Select Accept to accept first-party and third-party cookies.
- Click OK.
To start the administrative console on a workstation, perform these steps:
- Open this URL in your browser:
http://your.server.name:port/adminwhere your.server.name is the host name of the iSeries server on which the application server of the deployment manager is running, and port is the administrative console port as noted in the ready message in the joblog of the application server of the deployment manager. For the default Network Deployment instance, the administrative console port is 9090.When prompted, enter a user ID. The administrative console is displayed in the browser window.
Note: The user ID does not need to be an OS/400 user profile. This user ID is used only to track which users make changes to the application server configuration.
