Install the required iSeries licensed program for Linux integration
This topic discusses the i5/OS® options and licensed programs that are required for integrated x86 Linux® servers.
Linux integration support requires the following iSeries™ licensed programs:
- 5722-SS1 opt. 29 Integrated Server Support
- 5722-LSV IBM i5/OS Integration for Linux on xSeries
- 5722-XE1 IBM iSeries Access for Windows which is needed for iSeries Navigator
- 5722-TC1 IBM TCP/IP Connectivity Utilities for i5/OS
Additionally, the following are specific to iSCSI:
- 5722-SS1 opt. 03 Extended Base Directory Support
- 5722-SS1 opt. 30 Qshell
- 5722-SS1 opt. 34 Digital Certificate Manager
- 5722-JV1 Java Development Kit 1.4, Option 6.
- 5722-DG1 IBM HTTP Server for i5/OS which installed when you install 5733-VE2 IBM Virtualization Engine, SE version
- 5722-DR1 IBM Director Server
To verify that i5/OS licensed programs are installed...
- Type GO LICPGM on a command line and press Enter. The Work with Licensed Programs menu is displayed.
- Type 10 and press Enter. You see the Display Installed Licensed Programs display. Scroll down to verify that license programs are installed.
- If the license programs are not installed you need to find the media that the system was installed from.
- Insert the CD-ROM containing the license programs into the iSeries optical drive.
- Return to the Work with Licensed Programs display and select option 11, Install licensed programs.
- Page down the list of program products and type 1 next to the license program.
- Verify that you selected the correct options on the confirmation display. Press Enter.
- Type the device name for the optical drive being used. Press Enter.
- The Linux integration software is now installed.
