i5/OS data migration concepts
An i5/OS® data migration is the process of moving data from one system to a new system where the source system and the target system have different serial numbers.
Data migration process
The data migration process includes planning, ordering, preparing for, and performing the data migration. Planning is most involved and may require up to 6 weeks, depending on the complexity of your environment. Installing the i5/OS release on the source system requires at least one hour. Migrating the data from the source system to the target system can normally be accomplished in up to 3 days.
