You can install many types of fixes, which include cumulative PTF packages, HIPER fixes, i5/OS® and other licensed program fixes, and fixes for the Licensed Internal Code.
Factors that can influence the method you choose include your environment (such as logical partitions), how you received your fixes (electronically or on media), or the type of device that you want to use (image catalog, for example).
