Checking optical volume
You can use the Check Optical Volume (CHKOPTVOL) command to validate the integrity of the directories and files on a volume. The Check Optical Volume (CHKOPTVOL) command can be used to verify that all files can be read and will print a list of damaged files if any exist. In addition, a count of damaged and undamaged files can be displayed depending on the value of the OUTPUT parameter. Enter information for the following fields on the Check Optical Volume display:
- Volume identifier
- Optical device: Required only if the Volume identifier parameter is *MOUNTED
The Check Optical Volume (CHKOPTVOL) command applies to:
- Volumes in directly attached optical media libraries
- Volumes in CD-ROM and DVD devices
- Volumes in virtual optical devices
