Start and stop the NWSD You will have to stop and start (vary off and vary on) the NWSD to IPL a logical partition running Linux. Use either of the following methods to do this: Parent topic: Create a logical partition to run Linux Stop the NWSD with iSeries Navigator To stop the NWSD, do the following: Click Integrated Server Administration > Servers. Right-click the name of the NWSD that you want to stop. Click Shut Down. Start the NWSD with iSeries Navigator To start the NWSD, do the following: Click Integrated Server Administration > Servers. Right-click the name of the NWSD that you want to start. Click Start. Stop the NWSD with CL commands To stop the NWSD using the Work with configuration status (WRKCFGSTS) CL command, do the following: Type WRKCFGSTS *NWS and press Enter. Type 2 next to the NWSD that you want to stop and press Enter. Start the NWSD with CL commands To start the NWSD using the Work with configuration status (WRKCFGSTS) CL command, do the following: Type WRKCFGSTS *NWS and press Enter. Type 1 next to the NWSD that you want to start and press Enter.
