Order a new server or upgrade an existing server to run a logical partition

 

The IBM System Planning Tool emulates an LPAR configuration and validates that the planned partitions are valid.

In addition, the IBM System Planning Tool allows you to test the placement of i5/OS^® and Linux hardware within the server to ensure that the placement is valid. Refer to IBM System Planning Tool for information on the IBM System Planning Tool.

Contact your IBM^® marketing representative or IBM Business Partner to enter the order. You can enter the order by using the iSeries™ configurator. The configurator has been enhanced to support ordering IOAs without IOPs when a Linux partition is being defined.

When placing the order for a server with resources that support Linux in a logical partition, specify feature code 0142.
