Creating your own virtual devices

 

You can manually create virtual devices and controllers, with custom names or automatically generated names.

If you create your own virtual devices and allow your system to automatically select the device name, be aware of the following rules:

If you choose to create your own devices, you should be familiar with the virtual device descriptions naming conventions used by the Telnet server. If you want to select your own device names (using a RFC 2877 client or the Virtual Terminal APIs), then the virtual controller has the name QVIRCD nnnn, where nnnn is a decimal number 01 or greater.
