Enabling SSL on the Telnet server

Follow these steps for understanding how to enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) on the Telnet server.

1. Open iSeries™ Navigator.

2. Expand your system > Network > Servers > TCP/IP.

3. Right-click Telnet.

4. Select Properties.

5. Select the General tab.

6. Choose one of these options for SSL support:

   • Secure only

     Select this to allow only SSL sessions with the Telnet server.

   • Non-secure only

     Select this to prohibit secure sessions with the Telnet server. Attempts to connect to an SSL port will not connect.

   • Both secure and non-secure

     Select this to allow both secure and non-secure sessions with the Telnet server.
