Checking system status
You need to confirm that your Telnet is ready for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) sessions.
- Verify that you have the appropriate software installed to support Telnet SSL and to manage certificates:
- IBM® TCP/IP Connectivity Utilities for i5/OS® (5722-TC1)
- Digital Certificate Manager (5722-SS1 - Boss Option 34)
- IBM HTTP Server for i5/OS (5722-DG1)
- IBM Developer Kit for Java™ (5722-JV1)
- Verify that you have a secure Telnet server by associating a certificate with the Telnet server application QIBM_QTV_TELNET_SERVER.
- Ping your host system to verify that your TCP/IP connection and network status.
- Determine whether the Telnet server is started.
- Determine whether the Telnet server is configured to allow SSL connections.
