Logical partition concept: IOP and device switching
If you select to partition at the IOP-level, you can switch certain IOPs and all its attached devices between partitions that share the same bus dynamically.
The partition that currently owns the IOP must not be in use before you switch the IOP to another partition.
Switching requires removing the IOP from its current partition and adding it to a different one. In other words, two partitions cannot use the IOP and its devices at the same time.
When switching disk unit IOPs, ensure that all disk units that belong to that specific IOP are first removed from the auxiliary storage pool and are in a non-configured status.
