Creating a service tools user ID

IBM recommends that you use a service tools user ID profile with LPAR administrator authority other than QSECOFR.

To create a logical partition administration authority (which enables all operation task as well) profile, perform the following steps:

  1. Start DST as QSECOFR or with any other user ID with Service tool security privilege.

  2. From the Use Dedicated Service Tools display, select option 5 (Work with DST environment).

  3. From the Work with DST Environment display, select option 3 (Service tools user profiles).

  4. From the Work with User Profiles display, select option 1 (Create) to create a new user profile and password.

  5. Ensure that the System partitions-administration privilege is granted.
