Networking for logical partitions
Logical partitions can use any of several communication methods to interact with other partitions or servers.
The type of communication options that you use will depend on your business needs. You can use any combination (or none) of these communication methods within a partition.
- Virtual Ethernet
Virtual Ethernet enables you to establish communication via TCP/IP between logical partitions.- HSL OptiConnect
High-Speed link (HSL) OptiConnect provides high speed system-to-system communication.- Virtual OptiConnect
Virtual OptiConnect enables one partition to communicate with another partition if both partitions have virtual OptiConnect enabled.- SPD OptiConnect
SPD OptiConnect allows a partition to communicate with another server or another partition that also has the OptiConnect hardware.
