Managing the File Transfer Protocol server

 

You can manage the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server to start and stop the server, administer FTP security, and use Secure Socket Layer (SSL).

You can set up your system to send, receive, and share files across networks by using FTP. FTP consists of two parts: the FTP client and the FTP server. You interact with the FTP client. The FTP client interacts with the FTP server. You do not typically interact directly with the FTP server.
