Creating an i5/OS user profile: ANONYMOUS

 

To prevent anyone from signing on to the i5/OS® operating system with the user profile ANONYMOUS directly, you need to create a user profile of ANONYMOUS and assign it a password of *NONE. You can create this profile using iSeries™ Navigator.

  1. In iSeries Navigator, expand Users and Groups.

  2. Right-click All Users and select New Users.

  3. On the New Users panel, enter the following information:

  4. Click the Jobs button and select the General tab.

  5. On the General tab, assign the current library and home directory that the anonymous user should use.

  6. Click OK and complete any other settings.

  7. Click Add to create the profile.
