Setting up validation lists for the Webserver search engine on HTTP Server
This topic provides information about how to set up a validation list for use with the Webserver search engine with the Web Administration for i5/OS interface.
Information for this topic supports the latest PTF levels for HTTP Server for i5/OS . IBM recommends that you install the latest PTFs to upgrade to the latest level of the HTTP Server for i5/OS. Some of the topics documented here are not available prior to this update. See IBM Service for more information.
A validation list contains URLs, userids, and password sets. This list can be specified when you select to build document lists by crawling remote web sites. To create a validation list, do the following:
- Start the Web Administration for i5/OS.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click the Search Setup subtab.
- Expand Search Engine Setup.
- Click Build validation list.
- Choose validation list options:
- Create a new validation list
- Select this option to create a new validation list. Enter the name of the new validation list.
- Edit this validation list
- Select this option to edit an existing validation list. Select the validation list from the list.
- Click Apply.
- Enter validation list content options:
- Action
- Click Add to add a new row.
- URL domain filter
- Enter the URL domain filter. For example, ibm.com®.
- Userid
- Enter the Userid to be used on the URL domain.
- Password
- Enter the password to be used for the Userid on the URL domain.
- Click Apply.
Your new validation list can now be used when Web crawling remote sites.
