Adding an auxiliary object class
Use this information to add an auxiliary object class.
Use the Add auxiliary class button on the toolbar to add an auxiliary object class to an existing entry in the directory tree. An auxiliary object class provides additional attributes to the entry to which it is added.
If you have not done so already, expand the Directory management category in the navigation area, then click Manage entries. You can expand the various subtrees and select the entry, such as John Doe, that you want to work on. Click Add auxiliary class from the right-side tool bar.
- Select any Auxiliary object classes you wish to use from the Available box and click Add. Repeat this process for each auxiliary object class you want to add. You can also delete an auxiliary object class from the Selected box by selecting it and clicking Remove.
- At the Required attributes tab enter the values for the required attributes. If you want to add more than one value for a particular attribute, click Multiple values and then add the values one at a time.
- Click Optional attributes.
- At the Optional attributes tab enter the values as appropriate for the optional attributes. If you want to add more than one value for a particular attribute, click Multiple values and then add the values one at a time.
- Click Memberships.
- If you have created any groups, at the Memberships tab:
- Select a group from Available groups and click Add to make the entry a member of the selected Static group membership.
- Select a group from Static group memberships and click Remove to remove the entry from the selected group.
- Click OK to change the entry.
